Common Names:

Kepang Palm

Distribution & Habitat:

Lowland rainforest and frehwater swamps in Borneo.


A large, solitary fan palm up to 15m high. The long petioles are heavily armed, and are boldly striped with yellow and dark green.


Likes a sunny, and very moist position. Doesn't mind poor drainage. Requires tropical conditions. Not commonly seen in cultivation.
