None

Madagascar.
Habitat:
An understory plant of the rainforest.
Description:
A small to medium sized solitary palm, with a very spectacular red spear, and a multicoloured crownshaft.
General:
This is a very popular plant with palm collectors, but as yet there is no clue to its real identity, indeed even if it has one. The seeds came into Australia in the early 1990's, from somewhere in Madagascar, but unfortunately, haven't been seen since.
Culture:
Warm, shady, moist, but well drained position. Has a reputation for being rather difficult. Cold sensitive.
