Habitat:

Open moist forest/heath, on high mountain massifs in northern Madagascar.

Description:

An unusual small, clustering and branching palm, from between 2 and 9m tall.

General:

A drink made from the leaves is used locally for convalescence.

Culture:

Lightly shaded, moist area.
