Small, single trunked/suckering palm, to about 2m tall, with a very attractive chestnut coloured crownshaft. It has dimorphic leaves, with those on the young growths having numerous thin leaflets, and those on the mature plants having between 3 and 6 broad leaflets. Some plants don't change leaf shape as they mature, so the mature leaflets are also very thin.
Very common in Borneo.
Warm, sheltered and moist.
