Distribution & Habitat:
Only found in a small area of the Sierra Madre Oriental Range in southern Tamaulipas, Mexico. It grows in pine oak cloud forest, between 1000 and 1800 metres altitude.
A small cycad, with a slightly globose trunk, and leaves to about 1.5m long. The new leaves are quite an attractive bronze colour. It has smooth petioles, and very narrow leaflets.
A very attractive plant, quite popular with collectors.
A lightly shaded, moist, well drained position.
C. kuesteriana in habitat, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
