Distribution & Habitat:

Rainforest, and stream banks of north-east New Caledonia.

Slender, solitary, emergant feather palm to about 15 metres. It has a very long crownshaft, and produces a mass of inflorescences.

Very rarely cultivated, and very slow growing when done so. Would probably prefer sheltered, shady, moist conditions.
