South-east Asian rainforest.

A solitary Arenga, although like most, a very large grower, with leaves up to 8 m long. The leaflets are stiff, and oblong in shape, green on top, and grey underneath.

It is a very handsome plant, if given enough room.

Being a tropical palm, it can be rather sensitive to cold.
