Distribution & Habitat:
Solitary palm, 4–7 m tall. Stem 17–22 cm diam., covered with leaf base remains in the younger part, vertically spiraling rows. Leaves little arched, 2.5–3 m long, dark green, bright, leaflets 115–120 per side, rigid, irregularly arranged, inserted in 3 or 4 planes. Inflorescences 80–100 cm long, pendulous; rachillae 60–70, arranged in spiral. Fruits 4.2–4.5 × 2.5–3.2 cm, ovoid, maturing yellowish green; endocarp fusiform, 2.8–3.5 x 1–1.3 cm, homogeneous endosperm.
Flowering and fruiting during spring to fall. Seeds germinate moderately easy. Can take light frost without problem
