Giant Windowpane Palm
Distribution & Habitat:
Belize, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Grows in understory of humid lowland rainforest.
A very interesting medium sized clustering palm (8-9 stems), between 3-8 metres high. The bright green, irregularly divided leaves have small "windows" between the ribs on each side of the rachis.
Warm, sheltered and moist. It likes a moist shaded location in cultivation and seems a relatively easy to grow palm.
