Habitat:
Open savannah of Argentina and Paraguay.

Description:
Small, to about 5m high, clumping, fan palm, with a fibrous, and spiny trunk. Has white fruit.

General:
Not often seen in cultivation.

Culture:
Tough and hardy, easily grown palm.
