Distribution & Habitat:
Open forest on Ryukyu Islands, Japan.

Description:
An attractive, medium sized, solitary feather palm, to about 10m tall, and similar in appearance to the coconut palm.

General:
Not often seen, but becoming more popular.

Culture:
A sunny, moist, well drained position. Frost tolerant. Slow growing.
