Distribution & Habitat:
Found in hot, tropical lowlands/swamps throughout Myanmar, Thailand and Sumatra.

Description:
A dioecious, creeping and tillering palm, with very spiny leaves that forms large clumps. Leaves are pinnate and from 3-7 metres (9-22 feet) long.

General:
Grown commercially for its fruit.

Cultivation:
Likes a sunny, moist position. Tropical, and doesn't mind wet feet.
