Common Names:
Giant Windowpane Palm

Distribution & Habitat:
Belize, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Grows in understory of humid lowland rainforest.

Description:
A very interesting medium sized clustering palm (8-9 stems), between 3-8 metres high. The bright green, irregularly divided leaves have small "windows" between the ribs on each side of the rachis.

General:

Culture:
Warm, sheltered and moist. It likes a moist shaded location in cultivation and seems a relatively easy to grow palm.
