Common Names:
Ceylon Date Palm

Distribution & Habitat:
Found in Sri Lanka and southern India, usually on sandy soils along the coast and in dry inland areas to 700 m.

Description:
A solitary or clustering, date palm with a slender, rough trunk to 3m. with a dense crown of coarse, spikey leaves.

Culture:
Sunny, well drained position in tropical thru to warm temperate regions. Frost and salt tolerant.
