This is a small, clustering, palmate palm, with widely spaced leaflets, and very deeep splits going to the centre of the leaf.General:
This palm is utilized for roofing thatch by Amazonian people. Rapid population growth in the Peruvian Amazon has led to an increased harvest of fronds and the sustainability (biological, ecological, and economic) of the increased harvest rates are unknown.Culture:
Warm, sheltered and moist. It is very rare in cultivation.
