Conservation Status:
Critically endangered, with less than 50 plants left in the wild.Distribution & Habitat:
Tropical montane rainforest at 400-550m altitude on Mauritius.Description:
An attractive palm, with prominant rings on the trunk, and stiff, arching leaves. The inflorescence spathe is very distinctive, being very long, and angled acutely upwards.General:
Becoming very rare due to land clearing, and despite being much sought after by collectors, it is very rarely seen for sale or in collections.Culture:
A lightly shaded, well drained position (probably).
