Common Names:
Gronophyllum sp. nova 'Filiawoi Yamu'

Habitat:
Moist rainforest of eastern PNG.

Description:
One of the most attractive of the very attractve Hydriastele , this is a solitary species with large, leathery, undivided, dark green leaves, growing up to about 2m tall.

General:
The leaves of this plant are used as dinner plates by the natives.

Culture:
Warm, shady, moist, well drained position. Tropical in its requirements.
