Madagascar.

Habitat:
Rainforest.

Description:
A large, clumping (2 stems) or solitary tristichous palm, to about 10m, with a very solid trunk and a spectacular white crownshaft.

General:
There are 6 known plants of this in south-east Queensland, and they came in a some D. decaryi seeds in the early 1990's. It was initially thought to be a new species, but its now thought to be a hybrid between D. decaryi , and D. cabadae .

Culture:
Sunny, moist, but well drained position.
