Habitat:
Madagascan rainforest.

Description:
A medium sized palm, with an attractive pink crownshaft (surprise surprise), probably to about 10m high. The leaves are very similar (identical ?) to D. pinnatifrons , i.e. thaey are cupped, and arranged in groups down the rhachis. The new leaves are dark red.

Culture:
It likes a sunny, moist, but well drained position.
