Description:
A small understory palm, clustering or single stemmed, to about 3m, with a distinctive reddish purple stem and crownshaft, and entire, or pinnate leaves. Probably related to D. paludosa

General:
Apparantly named after the wife of a rogue collector in Madagascar.

Culture:
It likes a lightly shaded position, with lots of water.
