Distribution:
Only known from the island of Ile Saine Marie, off the north-east coast of Madagascar.

Habitat:
An understory palm of the open forest.

Description:
A small, clustering palm to about 2.5m tall, with erect leaves, forming a shuttlecock like arrangement.

General:
Only known from a single locality, which is under threat from habitat clearance.

Culture:
Warm, sheltered and moist.
