Distribution & Habitat:
Rainforest in Masoala and Mananara Avaratra in north eastern Madagascar, as well as on the south eastern coast.

Description:
A small understory palm, solitary or clustering, to about 2 metres tall, with entire or split, deeply bifid, corrugated leaves. As they get older, most plants seem to become clustering, and the leaves become split.

Culture:
Warm, sheltered and moist.
