Distribution & Habitat:
Lowland rainforest in the north-east coast of Madagascar, around the Bay of Antogil.

Description:
An attractive solitary or clustering sub-canopy palm to 4 m tall. Very broad, widespread leaflets, with the new leaf often red. Very similar in appearance to D. forficifolia .

Culture:
Warm, sheltered and moist.
