Distribution:
North east coast of Madagascar.

Habitat:
Lowland and hillside rainforest.

Description:
An attractive solitary or clustering sub-canopy palm to 4 m tall. Very broad, widespread leaflets.

General:
A very common palm in the north-east rianforest.

Culture:
Moist, well drained, sheltered conditions.
