Habitat:
Lowland rainforest, and hillside forests, north-east Madagascar.

Description:
A solitary (rarely) or clustering (3-4 stems) sub-canopy palm to 5 m high.

General:
An endangered palm, with less than fifty plants known to exist in its native habitat.

Culture:
From the description of its habitat, it would probably like moist, well drained sheltered conditions.
