Distribution & Habitat:
Native to New Britain, Papua New Guinea. Grows near waterways in wet forests.

Description:
Single stemmed palm, crown of arching leaves with broad triangular leaflets. The ripe fruits are red but seeds are not often available.

Culture:
Requires a warm, well watered shady or sunny position.
