Distribution & Habitat:
Open forest on the Carribean island of Hispaniola.

Description:
A medium sized, solitary fan palm with a smooth, thin trunk, to about 10m tall. The circular leaves have a dark-green top and a very attractive silvery underside.

Culture:
Sunny, moist, but well drained position.
