A tall, (to about 3m) densely clumping palm, with canes up to about 1cm in diameter.General:
Culture:
Sunny, moist, but well drained position. Needs shade when young, but can take full sun as it gets older. The most cold tolerant of the bamboo Chamaedoreas.

Figure 4. Erumpens form leaf detailFigures 3&4 are of the form once thought to be a different species and called C. erumpens . They have noticeably wider leaflets than the standard form. These are second generation plants of seed distributed by the IPS in the 1970's.
