Distribution & Habitat:
Native to rainforests in Mexico and Honduras.

Description:
Solitary stemmed small palm to about 2m (6 ft) tall. The male flowers are orange, and the female ones are red. Mature fruit is black. It needs hand pollinating, hence they are quite rare.

Culture:
Warm, sheltered and moist.
