Common Names:
Necklace Palm

Distribution & Habitat:
Native to Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica and Honduras this palm grows in moist rainforests.

Description:
A small, slender single trunked palm to about 1.5 m tall with dark green, shiny, simple leaves. They are thin with prominant veins, and a notched tip. Very similar to C. ernesti-augustii .

General:
Has been grown in Europe as an indoor plant for over a century.

Culture:
A very attractive plant for a sheltered, moist position. Quite cold tolerant, but slow growing.
