Distribution & Habitat:
A rare palm from Southern Brazil, growing in a small area of Goias and Minas Gerais, in open grasslands.

Description:
A small Butia sometimes with a trunk reaching a maximum of 1m in height. Leaves are glaucous, and extremely recurved and arching.

Culture:
This palm is new to cultivation, so its hardiness is unknown, but is likely to show considerable cold resistance like the others of its genus.
