Habitat:
Found all over New Caledonia, from sea level to mountain tops, from rainforest, to fully exposed situations.

Description:
Clustering altho occasionally single trunked emergant palm to about 8m. Very colourfull crownshaft. Very variable.

General:
A common collectors palm, and by far the most commonly grown of the Basselinia .

Culture:
Easily grown in light shade, and moist well drained soil.
