Common Names:
Choco Palm

Habitat:
Rainforests of Mexico and Central America.

Description:
A smaller growing palm to about 2.5m with heavily spined petioles and rhachis, and large, simple, or sparingly divided leaves. Leaflets are dark green above, and silvery underneath.

Culture:
Light shade to full sun, from the tropics to the sub-tropics. The most cold hardy Astrocaryum.
