Common Names:
Coquillo Palm

Distribution & Habitat:
Found in the montane forests of Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

Description:
A medium sized palm with a short trunk, and a crown of arching leaves with close, wide leaflets. The leaves, up to 3m long, are dark green above and gray-white below and are very spiny.

Culture:
Warm, sheltered, and moist, rich soil. Tolerant on very mild frosts.
