Habitat:
Tropical evergreen forests of Veracruz and Oaxaca, Mexico

Description:
A small cycad, up to 0.5m tall. Leaves to 0.8m long, reddish brown when young.

General:
Although only recently described (1983), this plant has become very popular amongst collectors because of its colourfull new leaves, so much so, that it has become seriously endangered in the wild.

Culture:
A sheltered, well drained spot in the tropics/sub-tropics.
