Habitat:
Endemic to Colombia, in the province of Santander, where it has two distinct populations.

Description:
A medium sized cycad to about 2m tall, with leaves to 1m long.

General:
This plant was named after the genus Encephalartos , because it has far more similarities to that genus, than to most other Zamias

Culture:
Sunny, well drained position.
