Cycads   Zamia angustifolia

Conservation Status: Threatened Distribution & Habitat: Endemic to the Bahamas on Eleuthera and New Providence Islands and eastern Cuba where it is found growing on dry limestone soil. Description: A small, acaulescent cycad with up to 10 leaves to about 80cm long, with up to 30 pairs of long (to 25cm) thin (to 0.5cm wide) leaflets. These are the thinnest leaflets of any species of Zamia It has very dark gray to black cones. Culture: Prefers a lightly shaded, well drained position, preferably on a limestone based soil.
