Distribution:
The county of Debao in western Guangxi province, China.

Habitat:
Evergreen and deciduous woodland on limestone slopes.

Description:
A small to medium sized cycad, with a subteranean caudex, and spectacular leaves, up to 3m long, glossy deep green, and dichotomously branched.

General:
This species was only discovered in 1996, but is already under severe threat from both habitat clearance, and plant collectors.

Culture:
Sunny, moist, but well drained position. Would tolerate (and probably prefer) calcerous soils. Probably also quite cold tolerant.
